Business Opportunities  for Córdoba’s SMEs in Colombia

ProCórdoba Agency, under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Mining, and Scientific Technological Development, reports that  the visit of Julio Felipe Fajardo, Expert 05 of  “Colombia buys Efficiently” (CCE), the National Public Procurement Agency of that country, was held on 11th and 12th November.

It is important to say that this was the third workshop about public purchases organized during the year. The other two were held in Peru and Paraguay and it is planned to continue with them next year.

During his stay, the Colombian Official provided Córdoba’s companies with a workshop on “Public Purchases in Colombia.” It was organized by the area of Cooperation and International Relations of ProCórdoba Agency in the framework of the Service of Assistance and Training in International Acquisitions, with the support of the Federal Investment Council (CFI).

In this event, Roberto Rossotto (General Manager of ProCórdoba Agency) welcomed Córdoba’s companies and then, Viviana Arias (Manager of the area of Cooperation and International Relations) delivered a presentation of the service.

The provincial authorities of the Ministry were also present: Juan Ferreiro, Secretary for Institutional Strengthening, and Bettiana Francisetti, Purchasing Legal Director. Because of the characteristics of the context, Ferreiro delivered a short presentation of the work of the Ministry of Public Management regarding the Public Procurement System of the Provincial State. 

In this ocassion, the companies had the opportunity to know more about the process of public purchases in Colombia, their procedures and requirements, and at the same time, they were able to present their companies and conduct inquiries.

On the other hand, Fajardo had meetings organized by ProCórdoba with the Export Groups “Córdoba Produce”, audiovisual services, and “Grupo SEA”, Emergency Supplies and Humanitarian Aid. He explained the specific business opportunities for each of the groups through the public purchases.
