ProCórdoba closes 2016 with a positive balance and great expectations for 2017

ProCórdoba, the Agency for Export Promotion of the province of Córdoba, successfully closed the calendar of activities 2016 by presenting the results obtained from this year of great work on the support for the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of Córdoba in their export process. 

The President of the Agency for Export Promotion of the province of Córdoba, Jorge Marcotegui, said that the agency is a successful example of public - private articulation. It became a true state policy. Regarding this, he said: 

"It is an honor to be 15 years promoting and strengthening the export of Córdoba. This year, we've supported 617 companies with over 1600 assistances. It is important to say that 61% of SMEs that were provided with services are from the interior of the province.”

The president of the entity considered 2016 as a transition year, “we come from a long period that far from being promoted, the export activity was discouraged. Fortunately, with a clear vision, we continue betting on the joint work by contacting important international trade promotion organizations and exchanging know-how. We develop programs such as the IntraNational Program, where Córdoba is positioned as an important product provider for some key sectors of Cordoba industry in rest the country. Because of the impossibility of selling abroad, the companies were able to have their first experiences by marketing their products with other provinces of the country. It was a success. We were able to strengthen our SMEs and bring more work to Córdoba."  

At the event, the President of IERAL was present as a special guest. Marcelo Capello, who talked about "World Economy: ¿Headwind or tailwind for Argentina 2017?” giving an analysis on the influence of the foreign trade policy of USA in Argentina and Córdoba. 

José Cisneros, on behalf of Metalfor, and Guillermo Abratte, representative of Doble TT talked about their experience with the Agency. Abratte said:

ProCórdoba is a mentor along this road. When we wanted to expand into foreign markets, the Agency provided us with the opportunity to travel with colleagues that were as uncertain as us. We were in contact with businessmen of the destination country and the agenda through business intelligence that adapted to our needs. ProCórdoba’s work in this process is invaluable.” 

Concluding with the balance of the year and expressing priorities for 2017, Jorge Marcotegui highlighted the work that is being performed by promoting associations: “Nowadays, ProCórdoba coordinates 12 export groups of different fields. Moreover, we've focused on specialized services by trying to adapt our programs to the needs of each company.”

The president of the Agency said hopefully:

We have expectations for what comes forward. We know that it is not going to be easy. There are very significant global changes but we are proud of being vocational entrepreneurs. I thank the presence of the Minister of Trade and Mining Industry, Roberto Avalle, whose attitude was praiseworthy, through his accompaniment and support to ProCórdoba.”

At the end of the activities, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Mining, Roberto Avalle, the managers of ProCórdoba, Roberto Rossotto, Viviana Arias, Daniela Huarte and Simón Blengino and the Directory of the Agency made up of different sectoral chambers of the province, regions and towns of the interior were present.
