ProCórdoba Transfers Know-How to Provincial and National Organizations

ProCórdoba's Cooperation and International Relations Department offered training sessions on the public procurement service to officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Argentine Investment and Trade Promotion Agency and the Federal Network of Investment and Foreign Trade Agencies.

National organizations had requested help to learn about this special export modality and the methodology to be used by companies in the realm of Procurement, where the buyer is a public entity (the State — at its different levels — and international organizations). As a response, ProCórdoba offered the knowledge gained and lessons learned about this innovative service, which is one-of-a-kind in this country.
A training workshop was given at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship. Among the participants were officers of the National Directorate for the Promotion of Trade and Investments of the Undersecretariat for Trade Strategy and Economic Promotion, and officers of the TradeNet portal. In addition, know-how was transferred to both the Argentine Investment and Trade Promotion Agency, and provincial officers that work in the Federal Network of Investment and Foreign Trade Agencies. On the other hand, training was also given to staff of the Foreign Trade Promotion of the City of Buenos Aires.

Part of ProCórdoba's work has been particularly focused on calls for offers by international organizations, Latin American states and the humanitarian assistance sector. As part of its activities, the Agency trains companies as well, considering their products or services, so that they can register on the United Nations Global Marketplace procurement portal and become reliable vendors for the UN.
The training sessions held at the headquarters of the organizations in Buenos Aires, and those offered virtually to the provinces in the federal network, had a special module focused on procurement by the UN. This is in tune with the international event that will take place in November with the heads of procurement of different UN agencies, who will participate in a seminar and business round in Argentina's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
ProCórdoba's Cooperation and International Relations Manager Viviana Arias referred to these activities and said,

Being able to share our knowledge and the lessons we've learned means the trainee organizations acknowledge the work we do. Besides, working in networks, together with others, enhances the chances of success with multi-actor and multi-level strategies. Argentina has a strong potential for selling abroad in the humanitarian market, especially considering the recent agreements executed by our country, which contemplate public procurement activities."
