OVER 3,500 VISITORS IN EPIAL 2015

On 4th, 5th, and 6th November, the International Meeting of Food Industry “EPIAL 2015” was held. It was organized by the Foreign Trade Chamber of Córdoba (CaCEC) and the Industrial Union of Cordoba (UIC), with the support of the Federal Investment Council (CFI) and ProCórdoba Agency. It is important to say that from the organization of the fair, a commemorative plaque was given to the CFI’s authorities to express gratitude for their support.

The event brought together 3,500 qualified visitors. Around 100 companies from Buenos Aires, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos and Córdoba exhibited technology, products, and services related to the food sector. Likewise, over 800 business interviews with 12 international traders were conducted (300 more interviews than in the 2013 edition). They were from Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Mexico and Uruguay. Eight supermarkets and stores that are in Argentina were also present and they got in contact with 100 representatives of local companies.

Regarding the event, Daniel Urcía, Vice President of the Department of Food of the Industrial Union of Córdoba (UIC), said:

“ Once more it meant a strong commitment on the part of the companies that supported this edition, where the regional sector’s potential was evident in the exhibitors’, traders’ and visitors’ comments.”

On his part, Fernando Sibilla  (Executive Director of the UIC) highlighted “the importance of the strategic position of Córdoba to continue improving this fair.”

In the event, three activities were simultaneously developed. Different companies’ products related to the food sector were exhibited (from the producers of raw material to the ones that are devoted to Logistics and Distribution) in order to show the diversity of the supply.

As it was previously mentioned, the sector of Business Rounds was present and Training Conferences were also conducted. The leaders of the different sectors were in charge of them, such as the Agro-industrial Seminar, the Second Corn Convention and the visit of the business representatives of the Southeast Asian Embassies.

ProCórdoba Agency had an institutional stand thanks to the support of the Federal Investment Council (CFI). Unlike other years, a touch screen (Totem) was installed, through which visitors and exhibitors were invited to surf the website “Córdoba Exporters” in order for them to know different tools and the opportunities for doing business. Moreover, profesional trainees visited each stand and provided information about the different institutional services and their benefits. Besides, they facilitated the organization of the Training Course “Fair trade.”
