Agroactiva 2019 offered its traditional International Business Round, organized by ProCórdoba Agency, the Federal Investment Council (in Spanish, CFI) and the Government of the Province of Santa Fe, with the support of the National Institute for Agricultural Technology, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Nation.
ProCórdoba’s General Manager Roberto Rossotto accompanied the operators, and he expressed, "The business round we hold at Agroactiva is quite important because it gathers a large number of exporters from Córdoba (and Argentina as a whole) working in the agricultural machinery sector, and brings them together with foreign buyers we fly in from other countries.”
"This is the result of the business intelligence work we have been doing together with AFAMAC — explained Rossotto — which has allowed us to identify priority countries and some specific buyers we wanted present at the rounds. Besides, this year we took the international operators on a tour around 19 Cordobese companies, so that they would get a closer look at our firms and see how the machines are manufactured and which are the business models followed in Argentina. This creates a stronger bond between manufacturers and buyers, which in turn enhances the chances of closing deals in the future.”
“The rounds yielded very good results: there were 420 business meetings between the international operators and companies from Córdoba, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires. More than ten entrepreneurs have told us that they established a contact with the operators with a view to working out price and logistics aspects and sell their products to the foreign market. They also explained that the most attractive markets are South Africa, Australia, Russia and Colombia,” closed ProCórdoba’s Manager.
Importers also shared their thoughts on the experience. Cuba’s Maquimport representative Yeneisy Capetillo Francia explained, “Our company imports agricultural machinery to drive growth in the farming, agriculture and beekeeping industries. It is a state-owned company that belongs to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investments of Cuba. Our goal with this visit to the fair was to participate in the business rounds and identify Argentine manufacturers with which we could close deals, and we have truly found them. ProCórdoba has offered constant support. The rounds were of the utmost quality and went without a hitch, and the staff were all very attentive.”
On the other hand, Fertec welcomed at their premises the delegation from Russia and Ukraine, two countries which offer tremendous potential for export. Fertec is devoted to the development and manufacture of machinery for crop fertilization, and it is a market leader thanks to the wide variety and innovative features of its products.
The firm has worked with ProCórdoba for over three years. Commercial Manager Luis Maineri, talked about their experience with the Agency and said, “The Agency has opened the door to the international market. This last year and a half we have participated in trade missions to target markets proposed by ProCórdoba after analyses conducted through their Business Intelligence Department. Besides, we have been visited by different importers, and have had the opportunity to really show them the company, the production plan and what we do in terms of development, innovation and service, with a view to bringing our company closer to those markets.”
Thus concluded in Armstrong (Santa Fe) the latest edition of the agricultural market’s biggest fair in Argentina, which successfully welcomed large numbers of national and international participants. Manufacturers of agricultural machinery and agroparts had the chance to exhibit their products before operators that visited Argentina with the sole purpose of learning about our country’s offer.
