ProCórdoba Agency accompanied 65 firms of the Province of Córdoba that presented its products and services to different UN agencies, during the "United Nations IPS" seminar and business round. The firms also received training and they discussed the challenges for innovation at the "UNOPS Possibilities Forum."
For the first time, Argentina held the "United Nations IPS" seminar and business round, where 11 UN agencies talked about the existing demand. The Cooperation and International Relations Department assisted and prepared Cordobese firms for the event, training them in the public procurement market.
Participating SMEs were already familiar with United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM), the UN procurement portal, and had already registered on the portal with the help of ProCórdoba.
Siec SRL specializes in the manufacture, commercialization and advisory services on hospital furniture and equipment. Siec representative Soledad Cafure referred to her participation in the event: "The experience has been extremely positive. We've gathered a large amount of information. As regards medical equipment, there are many projects, we've realized, we are not a part of. There is a lot of work to be done."
For his part, METALFOR Foreign Trade Manager Ricardo Turati said, "To become a UN vendor is very important for any company seeking their internationalization. Of course, we have to work hard after this. I want to thank ProCórdoba for its assistance in registering for this seminar and for accompanying our firm so actively."
UN officers singled out Cordobese firms for the specificity of their offer, its adaptability, and the innovation and certified quality of its products. Participants identified strong chances of closing deals in the public procurement market.
The Cordobese firms also participated as presenters in the "Good Practices Panel - Argentine Companies", where different Argentine vendors shared their experience with UN agencies. The presenters were R&O Vallé and Translation Back Office.
The networking space welcomed different business chambers of the Province of Córdoba, which had the opportunity to present its offer to different UN procurement officers.
The event centered around micro, small- and medium-sizes enterprises owned by women our young men, social enterprises, and companies offering technological, environmental and social innovation.
In this forum hosted by the United Nations Office for Project Services, Irene Presti, President of both 3DU and the Argentine Chamber of 3D Printing and Digital Manufactures, shared the following words: "The UNOPS Possibilities Forum has been very enriching; it provided us with tools and very positive networking opportunities."
One of the panels had as a presenter Laura Jure, Secretary of Employment Equity and Promotion of the Government of Córdoba, who specifically talked about the different programs focused on women.
On the other hand, Box Synergy participated in the panel for companies, representing the innovation and sustainability segment.
Lastly, a meeting was held with Patricia Moser, Head of the UNOPS' Procurement Group in Copenhague. The participants in the meeting were: Giuseppe Mancinelli, Deputy Regional Director of UNOPS for Latin America and the Caribbean and representative of UNOPS Argentina, ProCórdoba's General Manager Roberto Rossotto, Cooperation and International Relations Manager Viviana Arias, and Secretary Laura Jaure. They discussed opportunities for concerted work.
