Colombia Interested in Argentine Agricultural Machinery

ProCórdoba Agency informs companies that belong to the agricultural and agroparts manufacturing sector that it is organizing a trade mission to Bogota, Colombia, together with the Association of Manufacturers of Agricultural Machinery and Agro components of the Province of Córdoba (AFAMAC). This mission is going to be held from 15th to 18th July.

The trade mission will be held in the framework proposed by the Foreign Trade Support Program of Argentine Foreign Office (PDCEX) and will have the support of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA)

On the occasion of this mission, a Workshop on Agricultural Machinery Offer is going to be carried out. It aims at increasing the interest of Colombian importers and distributors of the sector. So far, six local companies supported by AFAMAC are going to participate in the event: Ascanelli S.A., Simeco S.A., Akron, Maizco, Pauny and TBEH

About this initiative, Luis Gilli, Trade Promotion Manager of ProCórdoba Agency, said:

"ProCórdoba, together with AFAMAC, presented this idea to the authorities of our Foreign Office in order to improve the positioning of the agricultural machinery in the promising Colombian market. The proposal has been developing for two years according to a good experience developed in the Bolivian market.”

Regarding the importance of these workshops, Hugo Ribba, Executive Coordinator of AFAMAC, said that these instances “allow the access to key contacts that can provide after-sales service later” and he also said that “it is the most difficult step to achieve in order to make effective sales.”

Moreover, Ribba highlighted the relevance of this strategic destination:

“All Latin American markets are important because they are the most competitive ones since we have a low-cost freight and prospective buyers who are interested in developing direct seeding. Colombia is one of these countries and the contacts we have been making for a long time in AgroActiva open the opportunity to sell and to have access to an after-sales service in this market.”

It is important to say that in the International Business Round that was held in AgroActiva 2015, ProCórdoba Agency prioritized the visit of Colombian operators. This allowed companies of Córdoba to promote their developments before the leading Colombian companies in the sector of agricultural machinery, a company that is provider of entities of Humanitarian and Development Aid and a representative of the National Federation of Rice Growers (FEDEARROZ), among others.

In the framework of these business meetings, the Colombian businessmen explained what is different in the local machinery and the sales possibility to Colombia. In this sense,  Boris Vázquez, from Colvazca, company that is provider of humanitarian aid, considered Argentina as a “market that is sensitive to new technologies and that is linked to large productive chains” with possibilities of  “increasing the familiar and cooperative agriculture of Colombia.”

Guillermo Preciado, representative of the National Federation of Rice Growers of Colombia, evaluated:

“In Argentina there is sophisticated agricultural machinery which called my attention. I was interested in the performance monitors for the post-harvest, which is very important for working in our country for a more efficient agriculture. Technologies such as this one are essential in order for the Colombian farmers to be efficient and competitive.”
