The proposal made by Venezuela to promote Complementary Economic Zone among MERCOSUR, ALBA-TCP, Petrocaribe and CARICOM, part of the integration process in Latin America and the Caribbean, was accepted by the member countries of MERCOSUR. In relation to this, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said:

“There are 24 countries in our continent totaling South America and much of Central America. It is an economical training that arises to go far beyond what has been called free trade."

In the same document the importance of negotiations on the European Union-MERCOSUR Association was also affirmed and it was also highlighted the conviction and the block to "all forms of violence and intolerance that look undermining democracy and its institutions".

For her part, the president of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, proposed this year anticipate the adoption of a free trade agreement between Mercosur and the Pacific Alliance, trade agreement that associates Chile, Peru, Mexico and Colombia. This proposal was also approved, which will allow the reduction of tariffs and could initially benefit the industry and trade in agricultural products of the countries involved.
