ProCórdoba Agency together with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Mining, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship of Argentine Republic and the Federal Investment Council conducted the first International Conferences and Exhibition on Humanitarian Assistance and Private Sector.

One of the main goals of this meeting is to position Córdoba-Argentina as a hub referent of companies that provide products, services and solutions linked to this specialized segment in South America.

The following video is going to briefly show the conferences and then, there are some outstanding comments of the participating authorities.

Viviana Arias, Manager of the Area of Cooperation and International Relations of ProCórdoba, explained:

"With these first conferences, in which the Export Group “Grupo SEA” (Emergency Supplies and Humanitarian Assistance) as co-organizers and pioneers, we are looking for greater visibility and position by showing other companies of the sector the existence of this specialized segment within the multilateral markets.”

On his part, the General Manager of ProCórdoba Agency, Roberto Rossotto, said:

"The event's aim is to establish a relationship between entities and national and international organizations and exhibiting companies. Here, solutions to different problems can be found. Córdoba has conditions and great product and service developments adaptable to each need, providing answers to the different adverse events.”

National and international distinguished speakers attended the event. Among them, we can mention Marcelo Lucco, the Undersecretary for Trade Promotion and Investment Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, who highlighted:

"Being here is very important. Córdoba is a province with a very important potential in the productive field. It has a great amount of companies and the productive variety is essential. One of the main axes of the Secretariat I am in charge of is the federalization of foreign trade. As long as we achieve more participation of the regional economies of all provinces of the country, this will impact on the national exports. We've been observed a large number of young entrepreneurs, which show the potential and the future of this province. They have the support and guidance of the Chancery to continue with this great work.”

Elisabeth Faure, Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Bolivia, in her discourse, she highlighted the technical capability of Argentina in the public and private sector:

"These events are an opportunity to make contacts, know the capabilities of companies and evaluate products that WFP or the United Nations can acquire.”

Roberto Palomo, member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), said:

"These events represent a very productive place. For the first time we've seen this in Argentina and we promote this initiative. Here, tools, knowledge, capabilities and innovations are handled.”

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mining thanked the visit of the national and foreign speakers and qualified as a success of ProCórdoba Agency the fact that it awoke the interest of the United Nations and countries of South America and said:

"Córdoba industry has a varied proposal to offer and contribute to the issue of humanitarian assistance. Our key bet is that in the next days, this will be repeated and that the Province will become a reference point for Latin America.”

The meeting also included the participation of Isidro Duran Torres Fontes, UN Procurement Officer in New York; Mario Alberto Lanfri, responsible Space Applications Consulting Area in Early Alert and Response to Emergencies of CONAE, the National Space Activities of Argentina; Karla Mock, Responsible for Humanitarian Logistics Foundation of Panama, among others.

At the end of the conferences, Viviana Arias, Manager of ProCórdoba Agency, thanked the entities and companies that participated in this initiative with the expectation to conduct a Second Conference on Humanitarian Assistance next year:
