Córdoba’s Companies receive Awards for Achievements in International Trade

  • Five local companies received this year's Córdoba in the World Awards at a ceremony organized by the Córdoba Chamber of Foreign Trade and ProCórdoba Agency.
  • The awards were given to firms in the agribusiness, industrial, and knowledge economy sectors, and also recognized milestones in internationalization and innovation.
  • In addition, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to businessman Norberto Delfino.

The Córdoba Chamber of Foreign Trade (CaCEC) and the Government of the Province of Córdoba, through the ProCórdoba Agency, held the traditional "Córdoba In the World" awards ceremony.

The purpose of these awards is to give a recognition to Córdoba's products and talent that go beyond our borders and reach the four corners of the world. This year, the recipients were HESAR HNOS. S.A., Tubos Transelectric S.A., BLEND, Embotelladora del Atlántico SA, Del Sur Translations, and businessman Norberto Delfino.

The 2024 edition also served to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Córdoba Chamber of Foreign Trade (CaCEC). The institution celebrated six decades of commitment, effort and vision for the future, which have made it a leader for the competitiveness and development of foreign trade in our province.

The event was held at the Metropolitan Museum of Urban Art, located in Plaza España, Córdoba. Guests included Minister of Production, Science and Technological Innovation Pedro Dellarrossa, ProCórdoba Agency's President Pablo De Chiara, CaCEC President Miguel Zonnaras, and Provincial Secretary of Regional Integration and International Relations Carlos Massei.

 

Also in attendance were other provincial and municipal government officials, presidents and directors of business entities, directors of CaCEC and ProCórdoba, Customs authorities, Consular representatives, universities, and special guests, along with representatives of the nominated companies, who received recognition for their work.

The statuettes, created by Cordobese sculptor Eduardo Quintana, combine in shape and materials a profound artistic expression of the values represented by each award. For the artist, these artifacts signify more than a prize: they are symbols of the dedication, effort and vision of those who have opened up Córdoba to the world.

Lifetime Achievement award
During the ceremony, tribute was paid to Norberto Delfino, an outstanding entrepreneur and former president of the Córdoba Chamber of Foreign Trade, who left a deep mark on the business sector. His leadership and commitment enabled key transformations, strengthening trade relations and opening doors to international markets. He worked arduously in institutions such as ProCórdoba, ADEC and the Central Region Forum. As tribute to his dedication, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award, a symbol of his legacy and commitment to the growth and projection of Córdoba to the world.

The ceremony also celebrated the 120th anniversary of the La Voz del Interior newspaper, and a distinction was given to general manager Juan Tillard.

About the recipients

Agribusiness award: HESAR HNOS. JL S.A.
With roots in a Syrian family that emigrated to Argentina and settled in Villa Ascasubi, Córdoba, this company started as a grocery store and today is a benchmark of growth and adaptation over four generations. In all these years, it has diversified its operations into grain collection and developed a modern peanut processing plant, achieving its first export in 2017. Thanks to investments in quality and international standards, the company has certifications that allow it to export to the European Union, including the BRCGS accreditation, which guarantees the food safety of its products. Today, its peanuts have reached 25 countries, and the goal is to further expand the plant, develop new products, and penetrate new markets.

Industrial award: Tubos Trans Electric S.A.
A family-owned business with a long-standing history, dedicated to the design and manufacture of electrical distribution and power transformers, and recognized for the quality and robustness of its products. The company envisioned the energy transformation the world required and invested in the expansion and modernization of its production plant, which today allows it to devote more than 60% of its production to the demanding U.S. market.

Knowledge Management award: BLEND
A leader in the delivery of architectural projects, it was founded in 2020 by two partners from Córdoba and two from the US. In just four years, it has established itself as a local leader in knowledge-based services, exporting advanced BIM modeling and coordination solutions to international markets such as the United States, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Austria, and various regions of Latin America. Thanks to a team of expert architects and an innovative and collaborative approach, it has positioned itself as a strategic partner for global architectural firms, contributing to the development of high quality projects and promoting Córdoba's talent.

Innovation award: Embotelladora del Atlántico S.A.
In 2023, the company took on the challenge of producing the "ADES" soybean-based drink in Córdoba for the whole country, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, which is milestone in its industrial history. Thanks to the strength of its human capital and entrepreneurial spirit, it has positioned itself as a producer, exporter and leader of the Coca-Cola system in the region. It is committed to growing and expanding its borders, bringing quality and innovation to new markets.

Internationalization award: Del Sur Translations
Founded in 2003 as a translation services provider, it has expanded its portfolio of linguistic and communication solutions, powered by artificial intelligence. With 95% of its services exported to destinations such as the United States, Canada, Ireland, Spain, and the Czech Republic, among others, it also has branches in the United States and Spain.
