On August 16th, Expotrónica 2018 — an exclusive exhibition for the electronics and computer-technologies industry in Córdoba — was home to the business rounds organized by the Chamber of Foreign Trade of Córdoba (in Spanish, CaCEC); the Chamber of Informatics, Electronics and Communications Industries (CIIECCA), the Federal Investment Council (CFI), and our Agency.
International operators from Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, the United States, Georgia, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Russia participated in the event as purchasers, whereas ten renowned Cordobese companies also joined the business rounds to acquire products and services.
Organizers said, “Once again, CIIECCA trusted the Chamber of Foreign Trade of Córdoba with the organization and coordination of these highly successful business meetings where over 400 interviews were carried out. The encounters have not only enabled business contacts, but also potential strategic partnerships.”
International operators remarked upon the excellency of the local companies and the variety and quality of the products and services offered by the hardware, software, electronic and interactive developments industries, as well as others related to interactive games and videogames, virtual products (augmented reality, 3D), multimedia content and apps, IoT developments, telecommunications and networking, data processing services, help-desk and call centers, energy, industrial automatization, security, e-commerce, e-medicine, retail and agrotechnology.
Erwin Bowles, Head of International Relations of the municipality of Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), met with local companies that develop public lighting components, low-power led lights and security systems such as CCTV cameras for the city. Bowles expressed an interest in purchasing education articles that use robots.
For his part, Chilean operator Hugo Seguel said,
“I’m very impressed with the development capacity of Córdoba. The companies I met with have shown me very innovative services and systems. We work with companies that require automation systems for the mining, industrial and refinery sectors. The probabilities of closing of deals and setting up partnerships are high.”
Andro Gorbushkin, CEO of multinational company Familoan SL, believes that events such as this one enable the establishment of relations with companies that — regardless of whether any deals are closed or not — are very important, and he expressed,
“We look for solutions and options that make people’s lives easier, be it with regard to finance or entertainment. We have held positive meetings with Cordobese companies that have very innovative products and ideas, and I hope we can close some deals in the short term.”
National operators, on the other hand, praised the opportunity to find potential providers of goods and services that are in high demand. Among these companies were Juan Blangino, Ormay, Doble TT, Helacor, Molino Sytari, Georgalos, Vidpia, José M. Alladio e Hijos, Fadicad SA and Oscar Peman.
Oscar Peman’s Bárbara Wülff was grateful for the possibility to “learn about new technologies that can be used in our business today. These rounds help us expand our horizons and become familiar with all the information and proposals that new trends offer to solve problems. They allow us to generate new information for better decision-making. I thank the organizers because the event was very positive and the interactions turned out to be extremely interesting.”
Juan Blangino’s Juan José Blangino focused on learning about new processes, solutions and technologies that had so far been ignored and could be beneficial for the company, such as automation and control processes and ways to counteract energy deficits. He said,
“There are many interesting proposals to be assessed. We have invited companies to visit our plant so that they can identify opportunities for development.”
Local companies expressed their gratefulness for the opportunity to come into contact with potential international and local clients and to learn about the demand for their products and adjustments that these require.
The 9th edition of Expotrónica, organized by the Chamber of Informatics, Electronics and Communications Industries of the Center of Argentina, took place on Aug 15-17 during the ICT Week at Hotel Quórum in Córdoba City.
