ProCórdoba Agency reports that on Wednesday, 27th May, the closing of activities of the Foreign Trade Conferences was carried out in the city of Córdoba. The first edition of this initiative gathered the joint work of more than 24 entities linked to foreign together for holding 34 events, with the aim of reflecting on the present and the future of the sector. There, 1,100 people participated; 50% of them were businessmen.
Regarding the conferences, the Vice-president of ProCórdoba Agency, Jorge Gleria said:
“With this initiative, from ProCórdoba, we want to show the topics of foreign trade and the work that has been performing from different sectors. We were able to fulfill that goal by offering new themes to think about and act in the field of foreign trade."
The General Manager of ProCórdoba, Roberto Rossotto, began presenting the services of the agency and highlighted that "ProCórdoba is a tool for the internationalization of companies and this event contributed to it a lot."
Activities carried out during the conferences and entities that participated in their organization
It is important to say that, under this topic "Strengthening the Export Culture," the activities calendar of the Foreign Trade Conferences in May included workshops and working meetings of technical staff and specialized institutes, the presentation of sectoral studies, business rounds for export groups, fairs and business missions abroad, business activities of the Intranational program, business meetings with Foreign Trade Areas of other provinces and training workshops, among other activities.
The topics related to the updating and training on foreign trade were the priority in the agenda of this proposal. To do it, the collaboration of the entities that make up the Directory of ProCórdoba was important. These entities were represented by the most important provincial chambers and the towns of Villa Dolores and Marcos Juárez. Likewise, the National University of Córdoba (UNC), the National University of Villa Maria (UNVM) (WTO Chair FLACSO), Catholic University of Córdoba (UCC), Siglo 21 Business University (UES21), the Higher Institute of Foreign Trade and the Aeronautical Training Institute (Foreign Trade Department).
Regarding the joint work of ProCórdoba with other entities, Teresa Olivi, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences and the Administration of the Catholic University of Córdoba, said:
“The teamwork allowed us to think of the constructive joint actions that generate knowledge."
Moreover, in that occasion, procedures manuals for local companies to contemplate the international procurement as business opportunities were presented. In the publications, the Area of Cooperation and International Relations illustrates the public procurement and purchases in Latin American states for international organizations and humanitarian supplies.
Finally, the Secretary of Industry, Pablo De Chiara, said:
"The Export Promotion Agency carries out indispensable tasks in order for local SMEs to provide their services internationally. The conferences confirm this goal."
