Throughout May, ProCórdoba Agency carried out over 30 activities focused on foreign trade and exporting SMEs or SMEs with an export potential. The events were organized together with different institutions, universities and bodies working in both the private and public spheres, and welcomed over 700 people.
The closing of the sessions, whose motto was “Consolidating an Export Culture”, included a training session where the “Exporta Simple” tool was presented. Success cases of Cordobese companies were also shared with the audience. The event was led by authorities from the Ministry of Production of the Nation. In addition, ProCórdoba Agency made a presentation about its Business Intelligence Program. Finally, participating SMEs had the opportunity to receive personalized technical advisory to start or boost their export activities.
At the closing session, ProCórdoba Agency’s President Jorge Marcotegui made reference to the work carried out by the Agency through their SME-customized programs which seek to strengthen and support the firms’ growth:
“We organize our services into different segments depending on the development of each company. That is why we consider the Business Intelligence Department such an important area of our institution: it analyzes existing offers in the sectors, the stage of development of each company, and its potential. The National Government is enhancing international trade, and that is why we celebrate the creation of Exporta Simple.”
Juan Pablo Trípodi, President of the Argentine Investment and Trade Promotion Agency, was present to support companies and authorities. He remarked,
“Export is one of the pillars of economic development. When we talk about ‘global intelligent integration’ we are referring to the promotion of programs such as Exporta Simple and all the tools that we offer companies day by day to make exporting easier. We provide our support to SMEs throughout all the stages of the export cycle so that Argentina becomes an international player in a highly competitive global world.”
During the event, Exports Director Carolina Cuenca (Ministry of Production of the Nation) provided a practical explanation on how to use the Exporta Simple platform, which allows SMEs and entrepreneurs to export their products to any destination in the world, by simply using a computer. Cuenca noted,
“In Córdoba, our fundamental partner to reach all the companies in the province is ProCórdoba. He have signed an agreement to disseminate the tool and bring it closer to the entrepreneurs in the province. Córdoba is one of the provinces that has most exploited the tool, and 30 percent of the companies had not previously carried out any export activities. We want there to be more exporters and more exports. The way to achieve that is by encouraging these companies which seemed so far from export to find a simpler and friendlier way to go out into the world.”
Entrepreneur and SME Secretary Mariano Mayer (Ministry of Production of the Nation) participated in a panel together with Cordobese companies that talked about their experiences with Exporta Simple. He said,
“This novel platform opens up a new world to many entrepreneurs that had not considered exporting. It is necessary to simplify the process if we want to join the international market and give our SMEs the chance to sell their products and talents.”
The following authorities were present at the event: Secretary of Productive Integration Fernando Premoli (Ministry of Production of the Nation), Minister of Science and Technology Walter Robledo, Agencia Córdoba Innovar y Emprender President Mario Cuneo, ProCórdoba’s Vice-President Jorge Gleria, board members of the Agency, Córdoba’s Secretary of Trade Víctor Lutri, and Córdoba’s Secretary of Industry Pablo de Chiara.
