ProCórdoba Agency, under the Ministry of Industry of the Province of Córdoba, together with the Asociación de Fabricantes de Maquinaria Agrícola y Agro Componentes de Córdoba (Association of Manufacturers of Agricultural Machinery and Components of Córdoba) (AFAMAC) and the cooperation of the Export Promotion Management of the Nation, organized a Trade Mission to Vidas Fair, that was held in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia.
From 15th to 19th October nine Córdoba companies related to the agricultural machinery participated in this mission: Ascanelli, GEA Gergolet Agrícola, Ingersoll Argentina, Oncativo S.A., Comofra, Agroindustrial, TBeH, Easy Agro, Maizco.
With respect to the mission, Nicolás Gonzalez, from Agroindustrial, said:
“I travelled with some expectations about the demand for peanut processing machinery of the Bolivian peanuts' market. The results were good; they got interested in the peanut harvesters and inverters because they do not have this kind of development in these machines.”
Moreover, he also highlighted that Bolivia is a new market that may have an important demand for products and even though the number of hectares used for peanuts is not relevant, the great number of producers is important because they want to get together in order to purchase. In relation to this, he explained that these producers are in a process of industrialization so they are going to demand more implements in order to save time and money.
Meanwhile, Gabriel Rizzotti, from Maizco, said:
“Our company has exported to Bolivia for 20 years but the idea is to strengthen our participation in the market. In this sense, the fair allowed us to determine which needs the Bolivian producers have."
Moreover, Rizzotti highlighted that the Bolivian market is very interesting for the sector and that Argentina's challenge is to achieve a greater presence by surpassing the Brazilian offer. Likewise, the representative of Maizco stated that the mission allowed them to see the reality of that market, which helped them reconsider some of the products that have to be adapted to their needs.
On his part, Pablo Hernandez, from Easy Agro, company related to the machinery for precision agriculture, said that in Bolivia there are producers interested in using new technology for the agricultural activity and in relation to this, he explained:
“The main service offered by our brand is a ground mapping; we create places that allow identifying different sectors within a batch. With this offer, we were able to generate lots of contacts because the producer can use inputs efficiently and have more production.”
For this mission, the work scheme included a “Workshop for the Promotion of Agricultural Machinery,” for which the main importers and distributors of the sector were invited. In turn, ProCórdoba Agency provided the participating companies with technical and professional assistance and with economic support.
