SDG Localization in the Province of Córdoba

ProCórdoba is taking part in the workshops organized by the Government of Córdoba to work on the territorialization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) collaboratively and across multiple sectors.

Through its General Secretariat, the Government of Córdoba is working actively on the regional adaptation of the SDGs set forth in the 2030 Agenda adopted by the United Nations.

The Agenda defines 17 Goals and 169 targets to attain by the year 2030, where sustainable development is the central focus. Their territorialization means that each province/region adapts the goals and targets through the construction of collaborative spaces.

To that end, the General Secretariat for Government, through  the General Directorate of Open Government and Public Improvement, organized a series of meetings with ministry representatives, academia, civil society representatives and the private sector, in order to work on the adaptation of the SDGs to the reality of Córdoba, considering the priority goals of the Province.

The various collaborative workshops are taking place as part of the pilot initiative of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which our province participates in. The results of the workshops and the recommendations of the OECD will provide input for delineating the 2013 Agenda for the Province of Córdoba.

In the pilot project "Territorialization of the SDGs", the Province of Córdoba is the first sub-national state in all the American continent chosen to "localize" the Sustainable Development Goals. Other participants include the cities of Bonn (Germany) and Kitakyushu (Japan), and the regions of Flanders (Belgium) and Syddanmark (Denmark), among others.

The Open Government Portal offers information about the initiatives and actions carried out by the state in relation to the SDGs, as well as information about the Government's priority lines of work.
