Since 2009, ProCórdoba has organized different activities that demonstrate Córdoba’s commitment to and interest in this strategic market. In October 2011, Governor Juan Schiaretti joined a commercial delegation in its visit to a new edition of the America Asia Business Forum that took place in Singapore.
This work to foster relations among institutions continued in 2017 through an Agricultural Machinery and Supplies Sector Exploratory Mission to Southeast Asia, whose participants included the National Institute for Agricultural Technology and the Agricultural Machinery and Component Manufacturers’ Association of Córdoba. During this mission, organized under the framework for South-South cooperation, the delegation visited Viet Nam and Thailand.
This year, a delegation traveled to Thaifex 2018. Among the participating Cordobese companies were the following: Bruno Tesan, Curtiembre Río Tercero, Gliestore S.A., Lactear S.A., Logros S.A., Proteínas Argentinas S.A., Refinería del Centro S.A., and Valor A.
ProCórdoba’s General Manager Roberto Rossotto stressed the importance of the exchange and of the contacts that were established in the wake of this latest visit:
“Participating in the international fair Thaifex 2018 in Bangkok has favored the opening of new markets. The mission is very useful when it comes to learning about the conditions under which the Thai and other Asian markets function. These missions offer new opportunities for Cordobese products.”
He continued, “We have yielded very good results, since Cordobese companies even made their first sales. Such is the case of Bruno Tesan, which sold to Thai companies. Logros, Refinería del Centro, Proteínas Argentinas and Lactear succeeded in establishing new contacts and identifying potential buyers or representatives for their brands in the Asian country.”
In addition, “those companies which did not participate in the fair as exhibitors were able to generate new contacts during their walks around the premises, and have high hopes for the business round that will take place in Viet Nam,” concluded the manager.
