Our Agency worked together with the Córdoba Grain Exchange (BCCBA), the Federal Investment Council (CFI), the municipality, and the Río Cuarto Business, Trade, Industrial and Service Center (CECIS) to arrange 176 business round interviews between ten operators from Chile and 22 SMEs from the Province of Córdoba. The interviews were carried out in the city of Río Cuarto during the first International Business Round for milling, animal nutrition, oil and expeller businesses, at the largest agriculture and livestock fair in the interior of the country.
The 84th “Exposición Rural” of Río Cuarto was the first to hold these business meetings, organized by the Business Intelligence Department of ProCórdoba Agency. Technical & Commercial Information Manager Ezequiel Lijtinstens commented,
“This is the first time that we have held an international business round at the ‘Exposición Rural’ of Río Cuarto. We decided early this year that we wanted to face this challenge, and expectations are high. The businesspeople from Chile work mainly in the manufacture of dairy and animal nutrition products. They have come to look for balanced feed, expeller, oils, mixes and other products to import to their country.”
“The presence of international operators at this round is a great facilitation tool. We work hard to ensure that companies are prepared for this first encounter with operators and equipped with the ability to negotiate with importers. We are pleased with their comments and expectations; they are really encouraging,” he concluded.
For his part, Chile’s Colum Representative Miguel Manriquez, talked about his experience at the event,
“This business round has been very interesting. It has allowed us, as a dairy product company, to form relationships with the primary sectors and food-producing companies in Argentina. I was surprised to see how developed agriculture is in your country; you have become a role model in the industry. I have found state-of-the-art machinery and I am looking forward to returning to Chile and sharing what I have seen.”
Manriquez added, “We are very grateful to ProCórdoba. This round has been highly succesful for us, and we are eager to keep working together with the Agency.”
Pablo Vasqueto, President of the Río Cuarto Business, Trade, Industrial and Service Center, also participated in the round and said,
“I would like to congratulate the organizers for the quality of the companies that attended the event. This event has surpassed our expectations. Besides, thanks to the fact that it has taken place in the Rural Society of Río Cuarto, it has raised awareness of our city’s potential. As regards the operators, we have strenghthened relationships and generated new business opportunities.”
“The Chilean companies are satisfied with the quality of our products. We must continue our efforts to boost foreign trade activities so that there are more and more exporting companies, including companies from our region,” he concluded.
International operators continued their planned activities with tours around factories in the area and a meeting with the Board of Directors of ProCórdoba Agency, which was held at the Expo Rural of Río Cuarto and focused on assessing the results of this 1st international business round.
