Focused on the student exchange, the teaching of Spanish to foreigners and the updating of Spanish teacher training, the National University of Villa María (UNVM) seeks to attract foreign students from Latin America, United States, Europe and Asia.
Moreover, by following a linguistic policy of accompaniment to the expansion of Spanish, the UNVM is part of the Inter-University Consortium for the Teaching and Testing of Spanish as a Second and Foreign Language (ELSE) that is responsible for the Certificate of Spanish: Language and Use (CELU) -a proficiency test of Spanish as a foreign language officially acknowledged by the Ministry of Education and Argentine Foreign Office-. This Consortium is constantly expanding and has added a new administrative headquarters in Singapore. Below, Estela López Favre, Director of CELU in UNVM, speaks of the achievements and challenges of linguistic tourism.
