15 anos consolidando a cultura exportadora

ProCórdoba Agency closed the 2nd edition of the Foreign Trade Conferences with over 900 assistants of 32 activities that were developed in May. 

These lots of events including training courses, working sessions, workshops and institutional and trade missions aimed at giving visibility to the topics on foreign trade and promoting what has been performing from different sectors.

Under the slogan “Strengthening the Export Culture,” more than 30 public and private entities and organizations worked together improving the institutional strengthening of foreign trade in export Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) (or with export potential). Likewise, it was discussed about the present and the future of the sector before the new national scenario.

The closing of the Conferences coincided with the celebration of the 15th Anniversary of ProCórdoba Agency. Within this framework, the President of ProCórdoba Agency, Jorge Marcotegui, said:

"I remember when in 2001 different business chambers of Córdoba proposed the challenge of starting a new stage in foreign trade (something deeply rooted). The government, with a clear and focused vision, accepted and accompanied this proposal. From there, an unprecedented experience and a great articulation between the public and the private started. This way, the Agency emerged to promote exports. It's a tool that has become a source of pride among people from Córdoba."

Marcotegui continued: “We've our aims of promoting the export offer fulfilled giving greater added value and supporting SMEs. I highlight the results obtained in 2015, where in 1,500 occasions we've provided support to companies and 61% of them belong to the interior of the province and they are SMEs."

He concluded: "We can feel proud of ourselves that we are on the right track. The key is not to stand idly by waiting for things to happen. We must continue working to improve this tool, i.e. ProCórdoba. I thank former presidents so much because they’ve played a key role in this story. I thank ProCórdoba staff and the business chambers that are the real agents of all this."

Then, the General Manager of ProCórdoba, Roberto Rossotto highlighted:

"ProCórdoba is a tool for the internationalization of companies. We provide a comprehensive service that helps companies to develop on foreign trade. Today we can see the result of the long way we've come for 15 years. These conferences sum up the effort on the part of the public and private sector, which we must recognize and celebrate."

Rossotto concluded by thanking the Agency staff for the daily work performed consistently and persistently, the vice president and directors, who provide the necessary space and confidence to contribute ideas, develop projects and constantly generate new proposals.

Then, the former presidents of the institution and the current principal were invited to receive homage for the work developed in the framework of the 15th Anniversary. Roberto Avalle, Ercole Felippa, Gerardo Juárez, Carlos Kesman, Guardianelli Oscar, Gerardo Seidel and Jorge Marcotegui were honored.  

The event was held in the presence of more than 130 people in the Evita Museum – ex Palacio Ferreyra- and ended with the speech of the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Mining of the Province of Córdoba, Roberto Avalle:

"Our province has a strong export potential, i.e. export consciousness. This concept has been incorporated thanks to the daily effort of ProCórdoba Agency and the support of the provincial government. These 15 years set a great precedent."  

Avalle continued with a new line of work, promoting the export of intangible products:

"It’s high time we put emphasis on exporting profiles, pure knowledge expressed through an engineering project, an architecture project, formulation of chemical products, etc. It is there where we have to focus by supporting our universities and institutions."

The official concluded: “I want to thank the presence of the representatives of Santa Fe and Entre Ríos provinces, who we must continue working within the margin of the Central Region. I extend my warm greetings to the authorities and the staff of ProCórdoba. We’ve shared this formation process with them and today we celebrate the consolidation of the Agency locally and nationally."
